" I recently attended the Cents for Teens financial literacy summer camp and it was an experience I will cherish and use for the rest of my life. I found the course to be very informative and engaging.

One thing I really liked about the program was how it introduced complex financial concepts but broke them down and made it really easy to understand. The instructor, Ms. Dia Hemanth was very knowledgeable on the topic. Because of her, I learned about budgeting, saving, investing, and even the basics of taxes! These are all important skills that will benefit me in the years to come.

I also really liked how interactive the program was. Each day we were given worksheets that really helped me understand the concepts being taught. We were also given real-life scenarios to solve which was a great way to help us start thinking about financial literacy in the real-world.

Overall, I would highly recommend Cents for Teens to any teenager looking to improve their financial skills. As Dia talks about in the course, it's never too early to start learning about money management, and this program provides a solid start for teens. I definitely feel more confident in my ability to make smart financial decisions thanks to this program!"

“Cents for Teens has shaped the way I think about personal finance. Last week I was tired of wearing the same clothes. Instead of running to the store and acting on my impulsive thoughts, I realized that I can use different combinations of my existing clothes to make new outfits. I saved myself from wasting money! I track my earnings and spending so I can be cautious with my money, and will be careful when I own a credit card.”

“Cents for Teens workshops have shaped the way I think about finances. Before attending these workshops I didn't know a lot about finance but after these sessions I learned a lot more about it. I thought I would never have to think about my finances until I got older but I am glad I learnt these things while I am young.

For example - I learnt about budgeting and how to allocate funds to needs and wants which is very important to my family. By categorizing our needs and wants, it could help us save money for things we really need and still be able to use some money for things we want. It is important  to realize the difference between needs (like food, shelter, and water) and wants (like designer clothes, a new car, and toys).

I also learned that how you use your credit cards can affect your credit score which can lead to whether or not you can get a loan in the future. In conclusion, I would recommend this workshop to anyone looking to learn about personal finance.

I really enjoyed this workshop series and I would love to attend more! Thank you so much for hosting this!”

“These workshops have impacted me tremendously by exposing me to financial knowledge. Before, I had a very vague idea that my parents paid taxes, had some sort of insurance, and held bank accounts through the occasional chats. Now, I know the importance of having knowledge of financial life topics such as income, spending, savings, investments, and protection. I will develop strategies that include emergency funds, paying off debt, retirement savings, and using credit cards wisely.”

You never have excessive work or boring lectures. Every idea was crystal clear, every question was met with an answer. This is your cheat sheet. I want to thank Cents for Teens, and instructor Dia Hemanth for everything.”
